How much are homes in Oahu?
The island of Oahu offers many beautiful communities and neighborhoods from downtown Honolulu to surrounding Pearl City, Kailua, and Waipahu. The downtown Honolulu and Waikiki area are going to be the most expensive with high-rise condominiums easily running over the $1 million mark. Just outside of downtown a condominiums that started about $250,000 or those around Diamond Head for about $450-$500,000 for a one or two bedroom condominium.
Waipahu and Pearl City are popular options for neighborhoods and residential homes with a real estate and property starting at about $300,000. The average price for homes in this area is about $450-$470,000. There are several beautiful communities up against the hillside overlooking the water and the town.
Mililani is north from Pearl city slightly with homes in a grotto price range starting at about $180,000. The average price is about 492 $550,000 with several high-end estates at $800,000 on up. These beautiful homes are between 1620 300 ft.² offering 2 to 4 bedrooms. The Wheeler Army airfield is located nearby so this makes an ideal location for those on the base with easy access to downtown necessities and amenities.
Closer to the water on the West side of the island are smaller communities such as Nanakuli, Waianae and Maili. Homes here certainly run the gamut of prices from smaller condominium and apartments to gorgeous Oceanside estates.
On the East side of the island in Kaneohe, home prices are similar to those in Honolulu starting at about $340,000 going to over $1 million for high-end estates and condominiums. This is also close to the Marine Corp air station and the Hawaiian Marine Corps base. In this town there are also still plots of land for building which run around $250,000. Larger homes can range over $1 million for five bedroom and 4000 to 5000 ft.² single-family homes at the foothills of the mountains.
