Neighborhoods in Aiea, Oahu
Aiea is one of the most popular places to call home for the year-round residents of Oahu. Here is some information and basics on the neighborhoods and subdivisions of Aiea.
Aiea is located about 10 miles northwest of downtown Honolulu or about 20 minutes along Highway 201. Aiea is nestled along the base of the East block overlooking Ford Island. Up against the Keaiwa Heiau State Park, Aiea has beautiful scenery, affordable homes, and luxury real estate properties. This town has a population of about 10,000 residents and includes the major high school and parks. Most of the neighborhoods run north up the hill from Highway 1 with easy access to downtown and the local Hickan Air Force Base. The Aiea – Pearl City neighborhood is in your community with the vision to combine with existing neighborhoods around the Leeward community college, Pearl Highlands and Pearlridge rail stations. The goal is to be livable communities that take advantage of the transit system making easy access to and from Honolulu and surrounding cities.

Kalauao Ahupua’a is located along the north side of the citey from the bay to the highlands. Average home prices are around $500,000.
Halawa Ahupua’a is located at the southern end of the city and takes up the largest footprint running east and west along H3 and includes the intersection of H3 and H1. Home prices here start at about $300,000.
‘Aiea Ahupua’a is located in the center of the community with the Napuanani Park in the center and the Aiea Heights Senior Living Facility towards the north. The average home price in this community is about $650,000.
Aiea Homesteads also runs down the center of town between Halawa Ahupua’a and Kalauao Ahupua’a. This section incorporates most of town with access to the freeways. Housing prices start about $600,000 in this part of town.
At any given time there are about 100 homes and condos for sale in Aiea. Home prices vary but the average listing price overall is about $500,000. Of the homes for sale about 30-40% are short sales or bank owned homes priced under market value.
What to do in Aiea –
Pearlridge is one of the largest enclosed shopping centers in the state and is separated into two sections known as uptown and downtown and includes a monorail. There is also a hospital on site. The Aeia shopping center is also a popular place to be on the weekend with Times Supermarkets, shops, coffee houses and restaurants.
The Aloha Stadium is also located in Aiea, which is home to the University of Hawaii Warriors football team and the host site for the Hawaii bowl every Christmas Eve and the National Football League’s Pro bowl every February.
Aiea is served by several elementary schools such as the Alvah A. Scott and Gus Webling, the Pearl Ridge Elementary School and the Waimalu elementary school. Aiea intermediate school and the Aiea high school are also located in this community.
