Easter is right around the corner as is the Spring Craft Fair in Mililani town.We have to major events going on this April.

EASTER EGG HUNT AND BUNNY

The Easter Egg Hunt. On April 8 from 8:30 AM until 11 AM in the Mililani Town Recreation Center 6 located at 95 – 1010 Konaku Street in Mililani is the annual Easter egg hunt. This event is sponsored by Hawaii State Federal Credit Union. This event is free for Mililani Town Association members and for those 12 years and under. However, tickets are required for participation. The hunts will commence at 8:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:00 AM, and 10:30 AM. Tickets are available at recreational center 3 and 7. There will be an Easter bunny perfect for photo opportunities, golden eggs, special prizes, games, and snacks.

SPRING FAIR

The Spring Craft Fair is also right around the corner on April 22 at the Mililani Recreation Center 5. Registration is already closed as we are full, and the event is from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. There will be crafts, food, vendors, shopping, and lots of arts. This is free sponsored by the Menehune Water Company.

Bollywood Film Festival in Honolulu

It’s that time a gear for the 2017 Bollywood Film Festival. Located at the Doris Duke Theater at 900 Kinau St in Honolulu on Saturday, January 7 through Saturday, January 22, this international film Festival will bring foreign film lovers together from all over the islands. There will be singing, dancing and of course, fantastic films.Bollywood Film Festival in Honolulu

This is the 10 year anniversary and opening-night will begin on Saturday, January 7 at 6:00 PM with a celebration of an Indian wedding. You can sing and dance along with live performances by Aaja Nachle and enjoy traditional dishes from Indian Café with wine, beer and soda available for purchase. The first film kicks off at 7:30 PM with a showing of Dear Zindagi. Tickets for regular screenings are just $10 or $8 for museum members. The opening night reception is $35.

On January 15 from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM is the Bank of Hawaii Family Sunday. Kids can celebrate India through art activities, music, and dance. Here’s the lineup of movies playing this year:

The Doris Dugan venue has been in the process of renovating and will be open until after January 5. It’s going to be great, a great new theater, and a fantastic venue for this year’s Bollywood Film Festival.

Oahu Christmas Events and Activities

It certainly is that time of year, bells on every street corner, Holly branches and palm trees decorated and lights. There’s lots of amazing events, things to do and activities all over the island this Christmas. Here some of our favorites this year.

Food and Dining

Lots of amazing dining options on Christmas eve including the buffet at Prince Court at the Prince Hotel Waikiki. Tiki’s Grill at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel features a four course Christmas Eve dinner for $49. There’s a three course Christmas eve dinner at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Have an ocean front Christmas Eve dinner at the House without a Key at the Halekulani for $55. The Trump Hotel Waikiki features a three course dinner menu at their oceanview lounge for $60. At the Waikiki Hyatt Regency a four course Christmas Eve dinner is $85 and at the Hilton Hawaiian Village at Bali Steak and Seafood is a four course fantastic dinner is $125 with an ocean view.

On Christmas day, you can find Christmas brunch at Prince Court, the Beach house restaurant, Orchids restaurant, the Monarch Room Brunch Buffet at the Royal Hawaiian, Pikaki Terrace at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani and several of the restaurants above are also offering a Christmas day buffet or special menu.

SightsChristmas Events on Oahu

At the Sheraton Waikiki, you can enjoy Christmas sand sculptures at their lobby entrance.

Santa arrives on Waikiki Beach on Christmas Eve at 4:30 PM in front of the Halekulani hotel.

The Honolulu city light display will be around until December 31 and a great way to see it all is on the Waikiki trolley.

The Ala Moana Center features holiday entertainment with hula shows and lights.

The nativity scene at the Kawaiaha’o Church in downtown Honolulu will be on display through December 23.

Employee gingerbread display at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach resort is December 21 through the 25th with creative gingerbread works as employees show off their creative skill.

Hawaii state ballet presents the Nutcracker December 18 to the 20th at the Mamiya Theater of St. Louis school

Parades

The Haleiwa Town Christmas Parade will kick off at 6 PM with 500 marchers, 45 vehicles, five floats and three bands on December 11.

On December 12 enjoy the Aiea Community Association Christmas Parade at 8:30 AM.

Also on December 12 is the Waimanalo Christmas Parade at 9:00 AM starting at the district Park ending at the Waimanalo Beach Park

Gentry Waipio Community Christmas Parade is happening on December 12 at 10 AM.

Waianae Coast Christmas parade will feature over 1000 marchers, 30 floats and several horse groups and bands. This starts off at 10 AM at the Rotary club.

Manoa Community Christmas Parade kicks off December 12 at 5 PM with over 1100 marchers, vehicles and bands.

West Oahu Holiday Electric Light Parade starts at 6 PM on December 12 from the Kapolei Fairgrounds ending at the tree lighting ceremony and block party.

Ewa Beach Lyons Club parade starts on December 19 at 10 AM.

Swim Programs at the Mililani Town Center

Recreation Center 1 always has awesome events and programs all summer long. Here’s what’s left of the  Aquatic Programs for 2015.Swim Programs at the Mililani Town Center

Every 1st Friday is the Floaty Fun Friday.  It’s free for MTA  members and they provide the floaty, you provide the fun and all ages are welcome. The event is from 4:00 – 8:00  on the first Friday of every month. There’s no sign of necessary but personal floaty’s will not be allowed.

Swim lessons are available for people of all ages. For preschool, participants meet with an instructor for 10 minutes and learn pre-beginner skills such as submerging. Participants in the preschool category must be 2 1/2 to 5 years old.

Those in Level I must be at least five years old and learn to breathe, freestyle and backstroke. There are six levels total and classes go up to 45 minutes long for all age groups. Registration for the August and September group is August 1 and registration for October and November is September 26 and registration for December and January is November 28.

The adult water aerobics is offered in the morning from 9:00 to 10:00am  on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at Rec Center 7  and at night from  6:00 – 7:00 at Rec 2 on Mondays,  Tuesdays from 7:00 – 8:00 at Rec 7,  Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:00 at Rec 2 and Thursdays from 7:00 – 8:00 at Rec 7.  This is for participants of all fitness level enjoying water workouts to improve strength, balance, endurance and flexibility. These classes use a punchcard system that can be used for any of the water aerobic classes during a two-month session. Participants must be at least 18 years old to participate.

The aquatic program also offers adult learn to swim classes, special needs swimming classes and Junior Masters program.

The Junior Masters Program are for ages 8 to 17 at work on stroke refinement and endurance necessary to become proficient swimmers. This is a noncompetitive swim team and participants must have passed the level 6, skill proficiency class.

The Mililani Town Association Aquatic Programs are  offered for all Mililani members. There are waiting lists and makeup classes available. For more information visit the website Mililanitown.org.

Come & Cheer us on!  Last years Help-U-Sell HouseBoat  was a great success thanks to our Designer and Master Boat Builder Richard Strong!.  Richard is the husband of our office manager Susan Strong and the Father & Grandfather of our Sailors Joy and Aden Fujioka.

Join us on Saturday, June 27 at 95 – 400 Ikaloa Street in Mililani at the recreation center 1 from 9 AM until 2:30 PM for the Cardboard Regatta Boat Races. Come cheer on your favorite real estate agent sponsored by Help-U-Sell Realty Pro, Island Style Reality Incorporated, Ashley Gundaker, State Farm insurance agents, Wayland Baptist University Hawaii campus and City Mill.

Cardboard Rigatta

Entry is just $10 per team where you can build a boat and race for awards and prizes. The registration fee includes one boat entry and two rolls of duct tape. It’s free to come and watch this unique event and cheer on all of the teams. Enjoy live music, food and giveaways.

We are so excited to be a part of this unique activity and one of the most anticipated events of the summer.

Parent’s Night Out and Craft Fair in Mililani

A couple great events happening in Mililani in April and May.Parent’s Night Out and Craft Fair in Mililani

The first is Parents Night Out happening on April 18 from 4:30 PM until 9:30 PM. This is the Saturday parents wait for all month long. At the Mililani YMCA ages five through 13 can be dropped off at $15 per child for preregistration or $20 per child at the door for five hours of play time, recreational fun, crafts and food while mom and dad get a night out. There is limited space available and everyone who is interested should preregister by 12:00 PM on April 18. People can register at the administration office, the rec room three and rec room seven business office. This is available for MTA members only so check with registration on qualifications.

On May 2 at 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM is this Spring Craft Fair sponsored by Mini of Hawaii. This Saturday you can shop, eat and browse to your hearts content with over 70 vendors, the luscious food, craft classes, workshops, local vendors and more. There’s free parking and a free parking shuttle from Mililani park-and-ride. The event is held at Mililani Rec 5. This is a perfect event for mothers since Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Manicures will be given out by Glossy Hawaii and massages from Massage Therapy Center. Enjoy crafts, cosmetics, apparel, prizes and more.

Stay tuned for the latest in events and activities happening around Mililani and don’t forget about the Cardboard Regatta this June at 9:00 AM. More information to follow in the next month.
