Where is Honolulu?
Honolulu Hawaii is the capital of Hawaii located on the island of Oahu. It’s located on the southeastern tip of the island itself which sits between the islands of Moloka’I and Kaua’i. It’s 2800 miles from Seattle Washington out in the Pacific Ocean.
Honolulu refers to the urban area of the South Eastern shore of the island of Oahu. inside the city limits, the population is around 330,000 residents
while the city and the County surrounding it is closer to 1 million. Honolulu means shelter day or place of shelter and is rich in history and culture. The city skyline has over 470 high-rise condos, industrial buildings and hotels and is ranked fourth in the United States behind New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The neighboring city of Waikiki is famous for its white sand beaches and popular celebrity sightings. The island of Oahu is also home to famous Diamond Head Mountain.
First settled by the Polynesians, Hawaii became the 50th state in the United States in 1959. This is only after many previous attempts thwarted by residents and locals.
Honolulu has some of the best weather anywhere in the world. Being close to the equator it’s always warm yet due to our tradewinds and close proximity to the ocean surrounding our island we have cooler evenings and mild temperatures year-round. Our average high is around 88° and our average low bottoms out at about 65. There is snow in some of the mountains surrounding the islands of Hawaii and our records high have never reached over 100°. This literally is one of the most perfect climates anywhere in the world.
It has been said that traffic in Oahu can be compared to that of Los Angeles or New York city. There’s typically construction going on at some point somewhere on the island year-round. Our major freeways, H1, H201, H2 and H3 traverse North and South and East and West across the island.

Most residents enjoy a little more peace and quiet on the West side of the island in neighborhoods and communities such as Ewa Beach, Kapolei, Waipahu and Waipio. These subdivisions the neighborhoods that at the base of the mountains and offer stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding territorial landscapes. Many of these homes offer two and three story properties starting at around $400,000. You also can find beautiful condominiums one and two bedroom layouts starting at just hundred and $50,000. Now’s a great time to consider buying since there so many foreclosures and short sales.
